Medical Tourism in India is becoming the prime choice of Patients

Nowadays, India has become the most preferred medical destination around worldwide. An increasing number of patients is migrating to India for the better and cost-effective treatment by the experienced doctors. Some factors like cost-effective treatment, medical visa easily, world-class services and care, other facilities like Ayurveda treatment and many more. In a report, it was estimated that in 2015 the revenue from medical tourism was Rs. 1,35,193 Cr, in 2016 it was Rs. 1,54,146 Cr. and in 2017 it was Rs. 1,77,874 Cr. "It is further informed that as per the report, through adequate focus and effective execution, Indian medical value travel, pegged at 3 billion USD in 2015, can be 9 billion USD opportunity by 2020", said K.J Alphons, Tourism Minister of India. He also added that the total no. of patients visiting India was around 4.95 Lakh in the year 2017 in which patient from Bangladesh and Afghanistan. In 2017, Bangladeshi patients who visited India were 1.20 Lakh in 2015; in 2016 it was 2.10 Lakh and in 2017 it was 2.21 Lakh.

On the other hand, if we look for Afghanistani patients visited India for medical tourism were 27.505 in the year 2015, in 2016 it reaches somewhat around 61,231 although it decreases in 2017 to 55,681 Lakh. Other than these countries, a patient from the Maldives, Sudan, Iraq, and Yemen visit India too. Listed below are the reasons for becoming as no. 1 country for Medical Tourism Destination. India being the fastest growing country in terms of medical tourism, it is now outstanding among all the countries.
